De aandrijfriem, ook wel aandrijfsnaar genoemd, is een belangrijk onderdeel van het variomatic transmissiesysteem op de brommobiel. Het zorgt voor de vermogensoverdracht tussen de motorpoelie (motorkoppeling) en de bakpoelie (bakkoppeling). Door deze werking raakt de aandrijfriem versleten en dient vervangen te worden. Dit geldt overigens ook voor de slijtdelen in de vario zelf zoals de gewichthouder, koolstofschoentjes of kunststof lagers.
